Open WebP Files in GIMP on Ubuntu

The WebP format is becoming increasingly popular on the Internet these days. If you have ever tried to open a WebP file in GIMP, you probably got a message saying that GIMP does not support the WebP format. Thankfully, adding WebP support is simple! On Ubuntu, simply install the webp package with the following command.

sudo apt install webp

Restart GIMP and you should now be able to open your WebP files. Enjoy!
